The PIGS
P for Punctuation
I for Interest
G for Grammar
S for Spelling
With the aim of consistency in editing and feedback/feedforward across the school, Brigit introduced us to the PIGS. The name is catchy and the characters are appealing to the children. PIGS can be used across the year levels to remind children of what they are looking for when they are writing and editing their work. They can be merged with the VCOP ladders and ideas from The Writing Book.
If you are a "do it yourselfer" and you don't have a set in your rooms, you can print one of the images above out at A3 and laminate it - alternatively, ask me and I will organise a set for you.
